Katie has been with KidsLink since May 2022, serving as an Intervention Specialist and Educational Coordinator Assistant (ECA) in one of the intermediate classrooms. Through her work, she emphasizes intentional behavior support, consistency, and fostering a safe, structured learning environment that allows students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
In addition to her role at KidsLink, Katie is one of the lead classroom teachers for Camp Sunshine, an adaptive summer camp for children with disabilities. She began her journey with Camp Sunshine in 2009 as its first peer model and has remained deeply committed to the program ever since.
Through her work with KidsLink Global, Katie is part of an international initiative dedicated to expanding access to high-quality special education supports worldwide. In July 2026, she will travel to Zambia and Tanzania to collaborate with educators and communities by sharing special education knowledge, training, and materials to support students with disabilities. This opportunity reflects her commitment to inclusive education and global collaboration.
Katie cherishes being part of her students’ growth and strongly values the meaningful relationships she builds with students and their families. She believes effective education is rooted in collaboration, compassion, and continuous learning—and she’s always inspired by the new and exciting lessons her students teach her every day. Her goal is to empower students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed both inside and outside the classroom!
