Our psychologists offer comprehensive assessments of a person’s abilities. While evaluations are individually tailored to meet the needs of the client, common areas assessed for a child include:
Following a one-hour parent intake meeting to gather your child’s developmental and medical history, your child will participate in approximately six hours of testing. The length of testing may vary based on your child’s age, the types of assessments being administered, and individual factors such as the need for frequent breaks. This information allows the doctors to gain a holistic understanding of your child’s functioning and to provide appropriate intervention recommendations.
It is important to note that not every child experiencing school and/or behavioral challenges requires a comprehensive evaluation. In some cases, a more focused assessment may be sufficient. During the initial intake meeting, your doctor will help determine the most appropriate testing plan for your child.
Please contact our office for scheduling and rate information. Coverage for psychological and neuropsychological evaluations varies by insurance provider and plan. In some cases, if there is a medical or biologically based concern contributing to your child’s development and current functioning, insurance may provide coverage for the evaluation.
