Lauren Kelly O’Hara, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical child psychologist with a subspecialty in the area of pediatric psychology, a field dedicated to addressing the emotional, social, and cognitive functioning of youth in the context of promoting health and managing a medical illness.
Dr. O’Hara earned a Bachelor of Psychology degree at Kenyon College followed by Master of Clinical Child Psychology and Doctorate of Clinical Child Psychology degrees at Loyola University Chicago. She completed both a pediatric psychology internship and fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining Kidslink, Dr. O’Hara served as a clinical faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she worked with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to serve children undergoing treatment for cancer, bone marrow transplants, hematological disorders, and immune deficiencies.
Dr. O’Hara has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families navigate the challenges of chronic, disabling, and/or terminal health conditions. She also enjoys working with children struggling with behavioral and mood difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and general adjustment challenges. Dr. O’Hara is well versed in both the evaluation and treatment of psychological problems during childhood through young adulthood. Her practice is informed by evidenced-based approaches with an emphasis on behavioral and cognitive behavioral treatments. Dr. O’Hara has joined Kidslink to serve the communities of Northeast Ohio where she lives with her husband and daughter.
