Our Executive Functioning Coaching: Building Independence for School, College & Career Program is designed for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and related executive functioning needs. The program supports students beginning in 8th grade through young adulthood as they prepare for and navigate high school, college, vocational training, employment, and community life.
Because executive functioning challenges look different for every person, services are individualized. The program begins with evaluation and goal development, moves into direct skill-building, and transitions to an application and check-in model as the individual becomes more independent.
Participants receive personalized coaching from a psychology clinician who understands the needs of individuals with ASD and/or ADHD. Coaching focuses on developing practical systems, applying them in daily life, and adjusting supports when a system is not working.

The initial neurology meeting reviews relevant history, current medications, treatment needs, and whether additional medical evaluation or testing should be considered. Follow-up neurology review will occur at an interval specified in the individual plan.

A series of direct skill sessions helps the participant develop and practice individualized strategies. Skill areas may include:
Many participants need substantial support to develop a management system and use it consistently across settings. With the participant’s involvement and as clinically appropriate, coaching may include family collaboration, structured accountability, or a reinforcement system. This work takes time, practice, and shared commitment.
Services begin with a minimum of one weekly meeting with the psychology clinician. Additional check-ins may occur by email, text, phone, brief virtual meeting, or another agreed-upon format. Frequency is based on individual need. As skills become more consistent and independent, support gradually fades to a less frequent check-in model.
Initial evaluation and goal development
Initial neurology and psychology meetings review strengths, needs, current systems, and priorities. Executive functioning assessment and additional testing are included when appropriate.
The clinician and participant develop measurable goals, a sequence of skill sessions, meeting frequency, check-ins, family involvement when appropriate, and review intervals.
Direct skill-building
Focused sessions teach and refine strategies related to individualized goals.
Real-life application and check-ins
The participant applies systems between sessions. Check-ins support follow-through, problem-solving, and strategy adjustment.
Fading toward independence
As progress occurs, service frequency decreases. Periodic check-ins help maintain gains and address new demands.
