Therapy Groups

KidsLink offers a wide range of social skill and therapy development groups. 

Social Language Group – Offered by our speech and language therapy department, the Social Language groups are designed to teach social skills, as well as to improve conversation skills. Children with a language delay or significant pragmatic language disorder will benefit most from this group.  Areas addressed include but are not limited to:  group participation, initiating/responding, sharing, cooperative play.  Functional language is required for appropriate participation. Multi-disciplinary therapy based skills group – ABA therapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy combine to offer a multi-disciplinary group designed for preschool age children with developmental disabilities.  Targeted skills include: sensory processing, fine and gross motor skills, social skills, turn taking, language, play skills and more. Multi-disciplinary therapy based skills group pdf »

H.U.D.D.L.E. – Helping teammates, Understanding behaviors,  Developing friendships, Directing emotions, Leading by example, Enjoying­ our time together.  H.U.D.D.L.E. combines speech and language therapy and occupational therapy to teach skills and strategies to promote teamwork on the field and with peers.  Designed for children ages 9-12 diagnosed with  ASD, anxiety, ADHD, mild language deficits, social and pragmatic deficits who will benefit from learning to be a team player. Understanding Relationships – Developed and facilitated by Kristin Uland, speech language pathologist, and Kristin Hopkins, occupational therapist. This group is designed for teens 14-17 years of age who will benefit from learning the skills of and understanding all types of relationships such as family, social, school and work. Summer Eats – Occupational therapy and speech and language therapy team up to offer Summer Eats, a themed fun program for children ages 5-8 diagnosed with ASD, anxiety, ADHD, language deficits and/or social and pragmatic deficits who will benefit from increasing their social, language, and fine motor skills.  Each session focuses on developing language skills necessary for successful communication and academics and ends with a group cooking activity to promote social skills, safety, independence, and life skills. Summer Eats pdf »
